Rona Bartelstone's care managers are professionally trained individuals
from a variety of health and human service backgrounds, including
post master degreed trained social workers, psychologists, gerontologists and degreed nurses and therapists.
The care manager is trained to work in a collaborative partnership
with the care recipient and the family to assure high quality
care that is consistent with the wishes, preferences, lifestyle
and resources of the family. To do this, the care manager focuses
on the possibilities for enhancing the life of the care recipient
to assure maximum independence and dignity.
Rona Bartelstone has a national network
of care managers who work under the continuing guidance of our
Chief Operating Officer to assure the quality and comprehensiveness
of care provided. Care managers are recruited to our national
system based upon their educational background, experience in
the field, and commitment to the health, safety, and dignity of
the individual and the family.
By providing an objective assessment and
access to a broad range of supportive services,
the care manager is in a position to help the care
recipient and family take the necessary steps to
assure quality care. Depending on the care recipient’s
individual situation, these steps may be
implemented incrementally to avoid overwhelming
change or confusion. The care manager keeps
the care recipient and family involved and
informed to achieve a sense of maintained dignity
and control at all times.
Where appropriate, the care manager
will make referrals to other professionals such as:
- Medical professionals
- Elder law attorneys
- Financial advisors
- Accountants and bookkeepers
- Trust officers
The care manager will keep the family
regularly informed about:
- How the care recipient is doing
- When new health or emotional issues arise
- When it is time to change, add or
reduce services
- Preparing for the future needs of the
care recipient
